Prices and comparisons
Finland publishes no individual home sales. Statistics Finland publishes, for each postal code area and year, the mean price per square metre and the number of sales of old homes in housing companies (asunto-osakeyhtiö), the shares in which most Finnish flats and terraced houses are owned, for four building types: one-room, two-room and three-room-or-larger flats in blocks, and terraced houses. New homes and detached houses are not in the table. Prices are in nominal euros.
Each station blends the postal code areas its 1.2 km circle overlaps. An area's sales are taken to be spread evenly over its land, so it counts with its sales times the share of its land inside the circle, and the station shows the weighted mean of the areas' prices per m²: the average price of the sales so counted. It is not a median, and not the price of sales at the station itself; neighbouring stations share areas, so their prices move together. All homes combines the four building types by their sales.
Statistics Finland withholds an area's price for a building type and year with five or fewer sales; those sales are left out, while the number of sales is always published. Before 2020 the numbers of sales come from estate agents' reports and from 2020 from asset transfer tax data, which cover more sales, so sale counts rise in 2020.
This is an average of observed sales, not a valuation or a repeat-sales price index. A station's price moves with the mix of homes sold, so pick a building type to compare like with like.
Prices require at least 5 sales, so counted, in a two-year window. With 5–9 a price is marked indicative (a hollow dot on the map and the chart). No middle-50% range is shown, as the table gives no quartiles. Where dots overlap, the station with more sales is drawn on top. The highest- and lowest-price rankings list only station areas with at least 30. Change comparisons require at least 20 in both windows. These practical thresholds do not establish statistical confidence. A dash means too few sales, never a zero price.
Area
The map covers Statistics Finland's Tampere sub-region (seutukunta), whole municipalities around the city drawn by commuting: Tampere, Nokia, Ylöjärvi, Kangasala, Pirkkala and Lempäälä, out to Orivesi, Hämeenkyrö, Pälkäne and Vesilahti. Postal code areas are Statistics Finland's Paavo areas for 2022, the boundaries the price table uses. The Go-to buttons open the map centred on a town.
Stations and distance
Tram stops come from Nysse's timetable (GTFS, published by the City of Tampere through ITS Factory) and railway stations from Fintraffic's passenger rail timetable: every station with a passenger train calling in October 2026. The platforms of a station count as one station, tram stops of one name within 400 m as one stop, and a tram stop within 250 m of a railway station is joined to it. Lines are drawn along the timetables' routes; long-distance trains are one line.
The network is as of October 2026, including when you view older prices. It does not reconstruct openings, so tram stops, opened from 2021, show prices from before the tram ran.
Time
The table runs from 2009 to 2025. The comparable windows use complete calendar years, 2010–11 to 2024–25.
